“reviewBody”: “My garage (8ft x 22ft) has been up approximately 5 years now and it has been a mixed bag of quality. When we ordered, we had an old garage (with an asbestos cement sheet roof ) to be taken away, a new base laying and the new garage to go up. I opted to not put the base down myself as Dencroft stated it must be completely flat.
First off, when the team turned up on day 1, they were surprised there was a garage there to be taken away (even though we paid for that). So they ripped it down no problem – and chucked most of it on a flatbed truck (including the asbestos sheets). They then put the base down – most of which seemed to consist of the remains of the walls of my old garage chucked in and then concrete poured on top (no sub base and compacting here!). Garage was built (including the additional ‘brick effect’ render) and then team left. There was also some trim (a chargeable extra) that couldn’t be fitted due to the design, but Dencroft were very reluctant to refund it – it’s only a few pounds they said (yet it didn’t seem to be such an insignificant cost when they charged for it in the first place!)
Since then the garage has been ok – although the floor has several ‘mounds’ in it – definitely not flat, and looking down the wall you can see it is not all in alignment (‘waves’ in and out).
Over this summer I have been converting it into an insulated workshop and have found more evidence of poor quality:
Firstly there are pretty much no vertical surfaces on the garage, both side walls are well out of vertical and both end walls too (in both directions!)
The fascia on the front end of the garage (apex garage) consists of two lengths of fascia joined by a finial at the ridge. Turns out the two pieces of fascia are different widths so couldn’t have even come from the same board. When levelling the internal floor i found at one end is almost level (bar various ‘mounds’ in it) and then about halfway down the garage the floor level changes to an incline and drops about 1.5 inches along the last 10 feet.
So whilst the garage hasn’t fallen down or leaked, I’d advise any potential buyer to lay their own base as I think this is the key to many of the alignment / vertical problems with mine.”,

Purchased a garage in 2006 which was perfect, we were very happy with it, until today.

One of the hinges, on the side entry door, snapped so I contacted Dencroft to obtain a spare part. I was informed that they no longer deal with the company (Normstahl) and that my only options were to either find a fabricator and have a bespoke one made ???? or to get Dencroft to fit a new door at a cost of £400 (nice little earner for them)

Having searched the internet there is nothing like them obtainable. So either way it’s going to cost a small fortune to get my door fixed.

12 years is too short a time to find that you cannot get parts…… So be warned!”,
